Brunswick’s Special Education Department seeks a School Psychologist to support its Child Find duties for students in grades K-12.
A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, an ability to build positive relationships with students, and a willingness to collaborate with parents, community members, special educators, regular educators, service providers, and administrators as appropriate.
Successful candidates will be able to:
- Administer and interpret a variety of evaluation instruments,
- Compose comprehensive evaluation reports,
- Guide IEP Teams through the special education eligibility process,
- Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state special education regulations,
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including both regular education and special education professionals,
- Communicate effectively with fellow staff, administrators, and parents,
- Assist in the development of teaching and learning techniques relevant to specific areas of exceptionality,
- Consult with system-level school teams for ongoing professional development,
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a School Psychologist, or Valid Maine Department of Education Certification as a School Psychologist (093)
- Valid Maine Criminal History Records Check
- Prior school district experience preferred
